Rap impresario Snoop Dogg is serving up a bowl of drama over his cereal biz! The Dog Father's lawsuit against Post Foods and Walmart is heating up in court.
Snoop's Cereal Beef
Last month, we gave you the scoop that Snoop Dogg got into the breakfast grub game with fellow rapper Master P, and we all expected it to be a smash hit, but according to Snoop, his cereal partnership with Post and Walmart went up in smoke.
Cereal Conspiracy
The D-O-Double-G and his Broadus Foods cereal company slammed Post and Walmart in a fiery lawsuit, accusing them of sabotaging Snoop Cereal! They allege his retail and manufacturing partners stopped putting boxes on shelves to tank sales and "force Broadus Foods out of the market."
Of course, Post and Walmart are calling for a cap on these explosive claims. According to the Star Tribune, they want the whole drama taken behind closed doors to private arbitration. Their legal team threw some serious shade, too, branding Snoop's conspiracy theory "completely false" and "utterly without merit," even though it seems Snoop's partner Master P had acquired video of Walmart employees claiming their brands were out of stock while (allegedly) sealed palettes of it sat in their store room.
While we'll have to wait and see if Snoop ends up dropping a diss track in the courtroom, in the meantime, Snoop is going all in on the food game with brands like his Momma Snoop breakfast foods, Dr. Bombay Ice Cream, and his collab with his old friend Dr. Dre on Gin & Juice. We hope it all gets amicably resolved so next time we're at Walmart, we'll be able to grab a box of Fruity Snoopz.
