One Shrimp, Two Shrimp...Twenty-Two Shrimp?
Want a sneak peek of the season 4 premiere of "Be My Guest with Ina Garten?" We love everything that Ina does, and "Be My Guest" offers a more intimate setting for Garten's famous friends to share their favorite recipes, stories, and secrets.
In this season's premiere episode, Jennifer Garner regales Ina with a hilarious story about a behind-the-scenes mishap from her iconic movie "13 Going on 30." The ever-so-charming Ina Garten listens in, wide-eyed, as Garner recounts the shrimp-tacular tale.
If you've seen the movie, you know that this particular scene involves Garner's character entering a party. What you might not have paid close attention to is that the scene is one long continuous shot. No cuts, no edits, just one big take where everything needed to be perfect. And while her co-star in the film is none other than the handsome Mark Ruffalo, in this particular scene, her co-star ended up being a very tempting plate of shrimp. As Garner shares her tale with a laugh (and maybe a hint of shrimp-induced trauma), she explains to Garten that every single take involved her picking up a shrimp and, well, devouring it whole.
"Yeah, we did 22 takes," she said, leaving Ina to gasp in mock horror.
"No! You had to eat 22 shrimp?!" she exclaims.
"Twenty-two whole shrimp. I'll never forget, I was like, 'I'm going to sit down for a minute,'" Garner said.
@foodnetwork we’ll never watch this scene the same love it, @Jen Garner and Ina! #bemyguest ♬ original sound - Food Network
From Shrimp Struggles to Skillet Success: Ina Garten Saves the Day
Can you blame her? While some folks might scoff - and oh, did they scoff at the star's tale on TikTok - at the idea of 22 shrimp being an ordeal, I know if I ate 22 shrimp in one sitting, I'd be hurling into my handbag.
Later in the episode, the ever-resourceful Ina comes to the rescue, helping Garner troubleshoot a family cornbread recipe that's been giving her a time, and Ina teaches Garner her Brown Butter Skillet Cornbread recipe. She throws it back to Garner for an easy peasy Pizza Crackers recipe, followed by the two pairing up to make pizza together.
As with the previous seasons, this six-episode return will bring a new cast of famous friends like Danny Meyer and Nicole Mann into Garten's home for sweet stories, riotous laughs, and of course, a whole lot of cooking.
