Rivers Cause Of Death Finally Determined As Lack Of Oxygen

Rivers Cause Of Death - Joan Rivers died on Sept. 4 and ever since, there have been different sources stating hypothesis on the entire issue. Today, it has been determined that the cause of death was lack of oxygen to the brain.

Joan Rivers had a surgery in her vocal chords. That is what everyone knew already. She had a stand-up show the night before and on the next day, she went to have what she expected to be a "simple operation."

For some days it seemed like Joan Rivers was going to be okay, and all of a sudden there was a cause of death being searched on because what was supposed to be so simple, turned out not to be at all.

"Specifically, Rivers, 81, died from 'anoxic encephalopathy due to hypoxic arrest' - brain damage due to lack of oxygen ," USA Today noted.

Apparently, a laryngoscopy was being performed by her doctor to see the vocal chords and then, an endoscopy was done as well in order to diagnose why she was suffering of a sore throat in the first place.

This endoscopy was performed by Gastroenterologist Lawrence Cohen, who resigned already after Rivers death.

But these two procedures weren't the only ones. It seems that once Rivers was dead, an unplanned biopsy took place and they were able to see through it that the vocal chords had swollen up to a point that the air had an impossibility to pass.

Despite of all this, Melissa Rivers, her daughter and TV alongside host, doesn't have new declarations to make and simply thanks everyone for the consistent support that has been provided ever since Joan Rivers died.

One positive point, and perhaps the only one, about Rivers death is that she is still very much remembered by all her fans and truly, people all over the world who don't fail to see her as the great woman she was.
