Subway Ditches Coke for Pepsi

Move over, Coke; there's a new soda in Subway town. After a 15-year run, Subway is saying "see ya later" to Coca-Cola and chugging over to Pepsi in a 10-year beverage deal. That's right, cola fans, starting in 2025, your Subway sandwiches will be best washed down with a Pepsi, Mountain Dew, or Gatorade instead of a Sprite or Coke. Franchisees will also be able to provide a wider range of Gatorade flavors to quench your thirst.

Why Is Subway Switching From Coke To Pepsi?

Well, besides having more beverage options, Subway claims this switch aligns better with "guest preferences across demographics." In other words, they're hoping Pepsi will be a hit with all ages. This isn't the first time Subway and Pepsi have been BFFs. PepsiCo is already the beverage king in several Subway kingdoms around the world, including Canada and Germany. But for the past 15 years in the U.S., Coca-Cola reigned supreme.

Has Coke Said Anything About Subway Switching to Pepsi Products?

Coca-Cola, ever the gracious loser (for now), says they'll "remain focused on delivering value" until the end of the year. Pepsi, on the other hand, is staying tight-lipped for now. One thing's for sure — this soda switch is sure to stir up debate among die-hard Coke and Pepsi fans.
