Popular Salads & Spinaches Recalled in 7 States (Is Yours on the List?)

It's time to check your fridge, salad lovers! BrightFarms has issued a recall of spinach and four salad kit products due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes, a bacteria that can cause serious illness. The recalled products were distributed to retailers in seven states: Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia. 

What's Recalled:

  • BrightFarms Baby Spinach: 3.5oz packages with "best by" dates of 1/11/2024, 1/13/2024, 1/18/2024, or 1/20/2024 (UPC 8-57062-00492-3)

  • BrightFarms Mediterranean Crunch Kit: 6.35oz packages with "best by" dates of 1/15/2024 or 1/20/2024 (UPC 8-50051-82501-1)

  • BrightFarms Chickpea Caesar Crunch Kit: 6.50oz packages with "best by" dates of 1/15/2024 or 1/20/2024 (UPC 8-57062-00415-2)

  • BrightFarms Bacon Ranch Crunch Kit: 6.70oz packages with "best by" dates of 1/15/2024 (UPC 8-57062-00416-9)

  • BrightFarms Southwest Chipotle Kit: 5.85oz packages with "best by" dates of 1/15/2024 (UPC 8-50051-82500-4)

What to Do:

  • Check your pantry & fridge. Look for affected products by brand, size, "best by" date, and UPC code

  • Don't consume recalled products. Discard them or return them for a full refund. 

  • Seek medical attention if you experience any symptoms of Listeria infection.

Symptoms of Lysteria Infection:

Symptoms of Listeria infection include vomiting, nausea, fever, muscle aches, headache, and neck stiffness. Seek medical attention if you experience any of these symptoms and mention possible Listeria exposure. Pregnant women, the elderly, young children, and people with weakened immune systems are most vulnerable to serious Listeria infections.
