Restaurant Creates 'Deadpool'-Inspired Chimichanga

It turns out the box-office dominance of "Deadpool" has inspired a lot of creative thinkers -- even those outside the movie industry.

According to Foodbeast, a restaurant in Philadelphia, called Cantina Dos Segundos (or Dos Segundos, as its loyal customers call it), has created a new chimichanga dish due to the popularity of the R-rated superhero film.

In the film and the comic books the movie was based on, the superhero/ mercenary is very fond of the Mexican snack.

For those who do not know what chimichangas are, they are deep fried burritos that originated from Mexico and the southern United States.

What makes Dos Segundos' chimichanga unique however is the fact that it is stuffed with poutine (hence the name "Deadpool Poutine Chimichanga"), a nod to the movie's lead star Ryan Reynold's Canadian heritage.

According to Philly Voice, poutine is a very popular dish north of the border and is made of French fries with gravy and cheese curds.

According to a post on the restaurant's official Instagram account, the dish is made of "braised short rib, French fries, Fried cheese curd Black beans, Bacon, Pickled red onion & jalapeño. served with a side of short rib au jus, topped with sour cream onion, scallion, cilantro."

According to its official website, Cantina Dos Segundos is located in 931 N 2nd Street Northern Liberties, Philadelphia and is open daily from 11 am to 2 am with Happy Hour rates on weekdays, 4 pm - 6 pm. For reservations, you may call 215-629-0500.

"Deadpool" recently earned $135 million during its opening weekend, delivering the highest opening weekend numbers for a first time director and for an R-rated film. The previous records were held by "Shrek The Third" and "Matrix Reloaded," respectively. In fact, it was recently disclosed that 20 Century Fox recently went ahead and ordered for a sequel to be developed.
