For Romeos who are looking for a bargain to save their pocket on the Valentine's Day, KFC Preston has an amazing offer lined up for them.
A branch of KFC in Preston, Lancashire, trialed a date night Valentine's Day service, for couples who loved fried chicken.
For the couples, a romantic setting, which consisted of tables decorated with linen napkins, candelabra and flowers, also offered winged chicken and their very own soft drink sommelier, according to BBC.
"A spicy zinger burger is all you need for love at first bite and our table is perfect for any hot date this Valentine's Day," explained regional KFC manager Gary Mather. "Our date night table offers diners the finest window seat with an exclusive view of Fishergate High Street, a perfect setting for our finger lickin' good chicken."
The idea behind this Date Night was perhaps the research of KFC that suggested that more couples prefer a low-key dinner to an expensive meal.
Additionally, a new research suggests that lovers in Preston spend more on Valentine's Day than anyone else in the UK, which also prompted KFC to choose Preston as their location for Date Night.
"Valentine's Day is bigger than Christmas for certain sectors - particularly if you happen to be a florist in Lancashire, where local residents really seem to go to town on spoiling their loved ones," said Dave Hobday, Worldpay's UK managing director.
For this year, Valentine's Day was on Sunday, which prompted Worldpay to name the following Monday as "make up Monday."
"Most business owners will be focusing on how to maximize profits over the intense and increasingly panicked 48 hour period up to and including Valentine's Day," added Hobday.
"But the shrewdest shop owners will also be making sure to keep some stock back for Monday morning, when our data suggests there's a premium to be made out of penitence."
