Left Behind Cast - The movie Left Behind was launched today and the reviews have been honestly, absolutely horrible. The movie apparently does not stand for itself in any way, according to most sources and now the question is if maybe the cast can save it?
Left Behind is based on a novel with the same name, which is actually a series of books but the first one and the one in which the movie bases is the published in 1995, and written by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins.
It's mostly a well-known release due to the main subject it deals with, which is the Rapture, as it has been calling the attention of most people and is actually appearing in several series and other movies lately.
The main cast is also an adding point. The main star of the film is Nicolas Cage, who plays a pilot who has to save a plane in order to get together with his daughter once again, who is played by Cassi Thomson.
Now, this last actress might the only one from the cast who receives positive feedback, and maybe Chad Michael Murray, who is the third known actor from the cast. And Jordin Sparks, although she is more famous for her music other than her acting.
Anyway, it was the Huffington Post that gave one killing review on the film by saying, "In more successful days, Cage's acting skills won him an Oscar for Leaving Las Vegas. Now it seems that he's the one Left Behind. Trapped in a film assembled by religious fanatics and acted largely by amateurs, Cage is paying his debt to society... his debt for over the top spending on expensive real estate and over the top acting in other cheap thrillers."
If that isn't a blow, then I'm not sure what is. The counterpoint and irony is that the cast and the Production team with the Director as well have it as the greatest bet in History, to put it in a way.
They gave an interview for Technology Tell and the Producer, Paul Lalonde says that is a wonderful story for Christians because now they will now what to expect from the Rapture day and for others because it is remarkably done.
Nicolas Cage shares that, "I was very taken by the family dynamic that plays out in this script. And that's what drew me to the project." Jordin Sparks also talked about the movie and reading the book before and saying about it, "I just remember being so affected by the idea that your friends and your family could just disappear."
