AC/DC’s Malcolm Young News State: ‘Due To The Nature Of Malcolm’s Condition, He Won’t Be Returning To The Band’

Malcolm Young News - It's hard to see someone who has been in a band for so many years to suddenly not be there anymore. Malcolm Young, one of the founders of AC/DC, is retiring from the band due to dementia.

The family of the now 61 years old guitarist, backing vocalist and songwriter, not to mention founder of AC/DC shared with People, "Malcolm is suffering from dementia and the family thanks you for respecting their privacy."

Already in April this year, Malcolm Young had taken a break from the band but the break has escalated to revealing the true reason for him to leave the band. Not by choice, but by illness.

In AC/DC's page, they have made a statement to launch the new album of the band that will be released on December 2nd and they made a comment on Malcolm Young as well:

"Rock Or Bust is the first AC/DC album in the band's 41 year history without founding member Malcolm Young on the recordings. Earlier this year AC/DC released a statement explaining that due to illness, Malcolm would be taking a break from the band. Unfortunately, due to the nature of Malcolm's condition, he will be not returning to the band..."

They also mention that the one covering for Malcolm Young will be Stevie Young, his and Angus nephew.

AC/DC was formed in 1973 by both Malcolm and Angus Young. With Rock Or Bust, they will be recording their 17th album together and are practically the founding members of heavy-metal. They have played with different musical variations over the years and they became famous from their very first album, High Voltage.

They suffered a lot of changes in members in the band, and it's tough to see Malcolm Young not being part as an active AC/DC member anymore.
