Just How Healthy Is Your Green Smoothie?

More and more people are switching to a healthier lifestyle. Their morning routine: Wake, smoothie, move, repeat.

People nowadays are getting more health conscious compared to how we were a few years ago. We have said goodbye to all those sugary drinks we loved so much and turned to green juices for refuge. Some likes it plain but others would spice it a bit more and make smoothies to start their normal day.

This becomes the daily dose of caffeine for the health conscious bunch. However, regardless of green smoothie/juice becoming a huge hit among keywords in google for years now, its extensive fame has not changed the fact that it's not easy to it pull off. Because of this, it usually lowers the chance for us to get the effects we are hoping for.

Our daily dose of green juices/smoothies provides us with the nutrients we need every day. It is packed with vitamins, minerals, and enzyme-rich liquid that can help us feel and look great. It also has a detoxifying effect that can cleanse your system. So when you feel like your health is about to hit the "credit" zone, you can always try green smoothies/juices to act as a buffer to nutritional and life stresses.

Some think it's a good idea to combine pre-mixed or pre-powdered greens with a new, trendy milk, or "mylk", well I say it's not the best decision to make. Throwing in those healthy stuff and get the best benefit is something that is close to impossible. Because the truth is, there are so many improvements to be made.

Here are two of the most important changes to be made:

  • The use of pre-mixed, pre-powdered greens and berries

There are a large amount of these fruits and vegetables in their fresh and whole form, complete with enzymes and catalysts at your local market. A little amount of dead, dried, pesticide and chemical farmed green powder will not benefit anyone. Always buy fresh produce when you can.

  • The use of low-quality protein bar

Including a fresh produce in your shake and then lowering it down by adding a low standard protein bar is not the best decision, because chances are you might be adding some harmful ingredients like hidden fillers, inflammatory agents like colorings, preservatives and a list of inactive ingredients that is sometimes longer than the active ones.
