Rita Wilson: Star Of "Sleepless in Seattle," And Wife of Tom Hanks Is Officially "Cancer Free" and "One Hundred Percent Healthy" as She Prepares to Go on Tour

Rita Wilson is happy to report she's kicked breast cancer.

"I am cancer free. I'm one hundred percent healthy!" the actress revealed at The Hollywood Reporter's Women in Entertainment Breakfast presented by Lifetime on Wednesday, December 9.

In March, Wilson announced that she would be taking some time off from performing in Larry David's Broadway play, Fish in the Dark, after being diagnosed with breast cancer.

"I am overwhelmed with gratitude by your prayers and good wishes and the kindness you're sending," she tweeted to her supporters in April. "Thank you. Thank you."

Rita Wilson revealed some difficult and very personal news: she was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and has undergone a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery.

Wilson also shared that the diagnosis and how she feels "blessed" to have the love and support of her husband, Tom Hanks, friends, family and the doctors who saved her life.

Actor Tom Hanks, Rita's husband added that he's grateful for all the support Wilson received after revealing her cancer diagnosis.

"God bless the luck of the draw," he said, "And the people who have been in her corner."

Actress and musician Rita Wilson will release her self-titled second LP early in 2016 and is taking the new music on the road.

Wilson's tour will kick off in March, stopping in more than 20 cities across the U.S., including Los Angeles, Austin, Boston, Chicago and Nashville.

Rita Wilson was born in Hollywood, Rita, who is married to Oscar winner Tom Hanks, is recognized for her numerous onscreen roles in films (Sleepless in Seattle, It's Complicated) and TV (The Good Wife, Girls), as well as in the live theater.

The couple has two sons, Chester, and Truman. Wilson has two stepchildren, Colin and Elizabeth Hanks.
