After working with Victoria's Secret for four years, Sara Sampaio finally earned her wings, becoming one of the 10 new Angels to join the lingerie giant's roster this year.
Victoria's Secret models are known for their toned body and to sculpt those legendary curves and seemingly never ending lengths of muscle, these women line up at the gym, barre, and on the Pilates reformer as often as five times a week.
Sara told HollywoodLife about how she achieved her lean and strong body: “I work out 2 to 3 days a week, but for the show I will do more. I work out with a personal trainer and also do Pilates.”
The 24-year-old Portugese model says that becoming an Angel was one of the best days of her career and a goal of hers for so many year.
But to be a Victoria's Secret Angel also means that she has to work extra hard to stay fit so she can perform well on the runway.
She told the site that to walk in super high heels, one must "make sure to train your legs and ankles. You need to be strong to handle long hours in heels and so you can walk powerfully without falling.”
Sara also revealed that it's not as easy as anyone think to model skimpy lingeries in front of people so she shared her secrets on how to be confident despite the fact that she may feel uncomfortable at times.
“Remembering how far I’ve come and how much I’ve achieved. Stopping to put things in perspective helps me when I’m feeling less confident. Also putting on a pair of Victoria’s Secret black lace panties always helps for a confidence boost!”
To achieve her Victoria's Secret body, Sara totally changed her diet.
“I used to not change my diet at all, but this year I decided to try something different and went to a nutritionist for direction. I wanted to build more muscle, so I went on a protein heavy diet for the 10 days leading up to the show — no sugar, no carbs and no dairy."
"It definitely worked because I felt how strong my body was after those 10 days," she added. "It wasn’t easy though! I love pizza, bread, pasta and candy, so cutting all of that out was very hard.”
