The former Sexiest Man Alive spills the beans on how he lost weight for his up-coming movie In the Heart of the Sea. Chris Hemsworth reveals that it took a toll on both his body and mind.
In preparation for their movie roles, celebrities often go through routines that prepare their mind and body for the role they are going to play. For some, it goes to extreme heights. If you're playing a Marvel comic god, you might need to load up on protein and undergo a mass gaining exercise routine. Now, if you're Chris Hemsworth, you need to take a daily dose of "Lost at Sea" but he doesn't recommend it.
Hemsworth posted on Twitter via his social media handle @ChrisHemsworth a picture of himself with a face full of hair and minus the Thor muscle weight that we all know and love.
Just tried a new diet/training program called "Lost At Sea". Wouldn't recommend it... #IntheHeartoftheSea
The 32 year old actor shared the experience of dropping 33 lbs in just four weeks. Hemsworth went on a diet of about 500 calories a day around salads, boiled eggs and "nothing much".
Hemsworth claims that it's much difficult losing the weight than gaining the same amount of weight when he was preparing for Thor. "The gaining is fine, you just eat a lot and you lift weights but that was underfed , which led to a pretty moody existence and inconsistent emotions", he explained.
He claims he does it to do justice to his character. The regimen led him to portray Owen Chase better - the man who spends ninety days at sea after a massive whale destroys their ship.
The movie, In the Heart of the Sea, inspired by Herman Meville's Moby Dick, will air on theaters on December 11, as reported.
