The sudden death of Chris Carney may be more heartbreaking than the public first thought. The 35-year-old lead singer of Prom Kings, husband of Disney star Tiffany Thornton and father of two was reportedly completely drunk when he and his equally wasted friend, Ezekiel Blayton, took off in their SUV.
Hours before he got into the car that would ultimately kill him, witnesses say Chris was drinking so much whiskey that he could barely stand up!
Chris allegedly struggled with alcohol abuse throughout the years, and his mom supposedly believed him to be sober, TMZ reports.
On the night before the tragic crash, Chris reportedly started with beer and allegedly moved to “the hard stuff,” eyewitnesses tell TMZ.
He was putting back shots of Fireball Whiskey before doing “Vegas Bombs” — which is a drink usually made up of whiskey, rum, schnapps and Red Bull.
As details on Chris Carney’s fatal crash continue to emerge, Tiffany Thornton took to Instagram to share a lengthy and heartfelt message for her late husband.
“There are so many things I want you to know about Chris but most importantly you must know how earnestly he pursued the Lord, especially in the past year. No one is perfect in this world and we all have our battles but it’s the way we get back on our feet and turn it around that really counts. And he did it," Thornton wrote.
“Please if you’re reading this know that Chris would want you to know the Lord," she added. "Don’t wait to run back to God. Our days are numbered and God is just waiting for you to come back to him. There is so much power in the redemption God gives us and I am so grateful that Chris and I got to fall in love all over again this past year.”
As previously reported, the late actor/musician was pronounced dead on the scene after the car went off the road while going 70 MPH around a bend and crashed into a tree.
