Earlier this year, legendary "Star Wars" and "Indiana Jones" actor Harrison Ford gave the world a major scare after a vintage plane he was flying in California crashed shortly after takeoff, suffering a few injuries along the way - now, it's Morgan Freeman's plane making all of us nervous.
Academy Award-winning Freeman is one of the most beloved actors in the world after decades of work in the industry, from modern classics like "Driving Miss Daisy" and "The Shawshank Redemption" to more recent appearances like Christopher Nolan's "Batman" trilogy - so when Morgan Freeman's plane is in trouble, everybody in the world is scared of losing an icon.
According to the BBC, Morgan Freeman's plane, a private one he wasn't driving, had to go through an emergency landing last Saturday on Tunica, Mississippi, about 40 miles from where started off shortly before (Clarksdale), as the plane blew a tyre while taking off.
"Sometimes things don't go as planned and a tire blew on takeoff, which caused other problems. But thanks to my excellent pilot Jimmy Hobson we landed safely without a scratch," said the actor in a statement sent through his publicist, via Fox News, then going on to say that Morgan Freeman's plane had unfortunately suffered a worse fate, though the specific condition the aircraft was left in was unspecified.
The Associated Press reports that Morgan Freeman's plane has been identified as an SJ30, described as "a light business jet," and after the emergency landing there was another aircraft sent to Tunica to pick up the Oscar winner, after failing to get to Houston on time due to the blown tyre.
Neither Freeman nor his pilot suffered any injuries whatsoever, and it has been announced that an inspector will be checking the current state of the aircraft this Sunday.
Thankfully the damage only happened to Morgan Freeman's plane and nobody was harmed!
