‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Secrets Leaked? Supervillain Kylo Ren Not A Sith? [Release Date, Cast, Plot & Spoilers Here!]

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is only days away from its theater release. As such, fans are excited and can't help but want to find out more about the film's plot, characters, and secrets.

It is a fact that the film is set to introduce new villain Kylo Ren (Adam Driver). However, some curious details about the character have only been revealed recently, via Games Radar.

According to the recent report, Ren isn't a Sith despite his devotion to the Dark Side.

Director JJ Abrams said the following about the villain's background:

"He is a character who came to the name of Kylo Ren when he joined a group called the Knights Of Ren."

In the "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" trailer, Ren appeared to be extremely devoted to Darth Vader's memory when a scene showed him talking to the former Dark Lord's old mask. Apparently, despite Vader turning to the good side in the old films, his evilness is crucial to the new "Star Wars" plot.

"That all came out of conversations about what would have happened if the Nazis all went to Argentina but then started working together again?" Abrams said. "What could be born of that? Could the First Order exist as a group that actually admired the Empire? Could the work of the Empire be seen as unfulfilled? And could Vader be a martyr? Could there be a need to see through what didn't get done?"

As noted by The Inquisitr, perhaps most significant of all recent reveals is that there could be a bigger villain behind Ren, since Supreme Leader Snoke is his boss. Abrams has kept mum about Snoke's role in the film, but he remains a pivotal character in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."

Meanwhile, other "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" secrets were leaked via Rolling Stone.

The Current Report says that joining classic characters Han solo, Leia and Chewbacca is Admiral Ackbar (Tim Rose), who appeared in the during "Return of the Jedi," as well as the animated "Clone Wars" series.

According to Rolling Stone's story, Ackbar is expected to warn new characters like Rey and Finn about the looming dangers they will be facing. According to Entertainment Weekly, little remains known about how much of a role Ackbar will play in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."

According to BGR, what's interesting to note about "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is the seeming ignorance of the new character about the history of the old films.

A perfect example is the character Rey, who asks, "Who is Luke Skywalker?"

Director J.J. Abrams explains this to Rolling stone and said:

"It got me thinking, 'Oh, my God, 35 years after Return of the Jedi there are young people in that world and what are they up against?'" Abrams explains. "But more importantly, what do they know of the history of the Jedi and the Empire? A young woman was always at the center of the movie."

Other "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" secrets revealed by the Rolling Stone article are the following:

  • A space battle, which features X-Wings, TIE fighters and a Death Star-like creation, will take place.
  • A lightsaber duel will also take place, revealing Kylo Ren's identity and an "intense-looking, unscarred Driver."
  • A new weapon will be introduced. Called the "Sunsucker" by the filmmakers, it is a device that churns energy and sends lavalike beams upward.
  • A "castle battle" is also taking place, as well as a "space skirmish" which will be led by Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac). The battle will include a scene of Finn and Rey having a lightsabre battle with Kylo Ren.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is slated for release December 18 - exactly fourteen days away! Till then, may The Force be with you.
