A mum and a civil servant from Motherwell was left speechless after she saw the lettering on top of her son's birthday cake.
Teresa Ward, 58 years old was so busy preparing for her son's 21st birthday. She booked a party good for 30 guests while trying to rush things up, she texted her friend Susan Mcwhinnie, a part time cake maker to make a Jack Daniel's-themed cake. She also sent her friend a text message, telling her that "Should add the message should be happy 21st Stefan."
However, when Teresa already picked up the ordered cake, she's somewhat disappointed after she saw the "odd" icing inscription as it reads, "Should Be Happy 21st Stefan." At first she though it's was just a slogan or a promotional phrase for Jack Daniel but later found out it was an error due to misunderstanding. When she review her sent text she discovered that she forgot to put a comma on her message.
Trying to figure out what to do, she photographed the cake and sent it to her birthday boy. At first, Stefan thought it was just a prank to make him happy on his special day but after his mom explained him what happened, he was shocked and just figured out it's "just the kind of thing that would happen to me and my mum," he explained to Herald Scotland.
However, the cake was actually a sure hit as it was shared to social media and got guests excited to see it. But invited guests were left with disappointment after they found out that Teresa already removed the extra word and just left the traditional greeting, "Happy 21st Stefan."
"Everyone got really excited to see it and were really disappointed to see that I had tried to 'correct' it. I wish I had left it how it was, I didn't realise it would be such a big hit," Teresa told the publication.
