With a flair for drama and broken friendships, Captain America: Civil War was able to smash Winter Soldier's previous views record.
In its debut, the trailer picked up 61 million views world wide in just the first 24 hours. It appropriately "Hulk-Smashed" Avengers: Age of Ultron's 34 million record and pushed Winter Soldier's 23.5 million out of the way, as reported.
What do you expect with a dramatic teaser between the ultimate fight between Iron Man, played by Robert Downey Jr. and Captain America, played by Chris Evans? The trailer boasts of a life-changing decision that affects both morals and laws, ultimately deciding the division of two sides both following what they believe to be right and just. Use that as the momentum for superhero fights and add a dash of superhero friends.
The trailer kicked off on Jimmy Kimmel Live and it trended upwards since then. The clip gave the fans a sneak peek on what we can safely call a showdown between the iron and the shield. The two heroes turned enemies on the basis of government guidance.
We see our All-American Captain America protecting and fighting alongside his long-time friend Barnes, who was the Winter Soldier. And on the other corner we see Iron Man supported by his own best friend, War Machine.
Though the focal point is clear, we can see in each trailer's scene that there are some hidden secrets that will be uncovered in the movie. We are talking about breaking out the antiques, ladies and gentlemen. We are talking S.H.I.E.L.D documents and United Nations-looking destruction.
Along with the epic battle, we will also get to see in action several Ultron players such as Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow, Anthony Mackie's Falcon, Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch, and an appearance from Paul Rudd as Ant-Man and newcomer Chadwick Boseman as the Black Panther.
