Mary Kate Olsen finally tied the knot with Olivier Sarkozy.
Page Six reports the controversial couple took their May-December relationship to the next level in an intimate wedding ceremony in Manhattan on Friday night.
Olsen, 29 and Sarkozy, 46 said their "I do's" in a private residence on 49th Street, between Second and Third avenues. Cocktails were served for 50 guests at a rear garden before they headed inside for a lavish dinner.
According to a source, one of the event's highlights were the party décors that included "bowls and bowls filled with cigarettes."
"Everyone smoked the whole night," the source added.
The fashion magnate got engaged with the French banker in 2014 after dating for two years. The couple shares a $6.25 million townhouse in Manhattan.
So what really made the former child star fall in-love with a much-older guy?
"MK is constantly complaining about boys not being mature enough for her," a source told Us Magazine. "She got the kids out of her system. Now being a businesswoman dominates her time, and she is rarely impressed with guys. She's definitely interested in him."
Sarkozy is the half-brother of former French President Nicolas Sarkozy and has two kids from his previous marriage.
The multi-millionaire has waited long enough "to lock her down for life," an insider said. "He calls her 'smart as a whip' and says she's mature for her age."
Olsen also got the approval of Sarkozy's friends and family. "Olivier's friends understand what he sees in her," a source close to the business mogul told the magazine. "Mary-Kate is funny and sweet."
Even Sarkozy's ex-wife, the mother of his kids Margo, 11 and Julien, 13, is pro-MK.
"MK asks her permission about things that concern the kids," another insider told Us. "So Charlotte loves her!"
All is well indeed for Olsen and Sarkozy especially now that they are finally married.
"Mary-Kate's family thinks Olivier is the best thing to happen to her," said another source. "They love him."
