Everyone loves those otter memes and photos circling around social media, and as it turns out, these cute little otters might just have a fan in the form of Benedict Cumberbatch.
The "Sherlock" star stopped by on "The Graham Norton Show" on Friday where he showed off his impeccable acting skills when he did his otter impressions alongside his "Black Mass" co-star Johnny Depp.
Like any other talk show host, Graham Norton didn't pass up the opportunity to bring up and remind Benedict Cumberbatch of the Tumblr site, which is "dedicated to comparing his facial expressions to those made by otters."
"His fans decided that he looked very [much] like an otter," said Graham Norton. Obviously clueless, Johnny Depp answered, "I'm sorry?"
Fast forward, and Cumberbatch finds himself imitating otter pictures that Norton shows to him. It included "angry otter" and "'Why I oughta' otter."
Showing that he's definitely a good sport, Benedict Cumberbatch jokes, "Is this a casting for my next role as an otter?"
Johnny Depp even joined in the fun! According to Variety:
"Depp and Norton even get in on the action to help Cumberbatch recreate a photo of three otters cuddling. Depp fully commits, going so far as to kiss Cumberbatch on the cheek. Cumberbatch is put to the real test when he is forced to pose with a massive teddy bear, which is so large that Depp walks to the other side of the studio in fear. Cumberbatch takes the opposite approach after posing, taking a running leap onto the bear and pummeling it to the ground."
