Taco Bell’s Downey Location Numero Uno Just Got Moved Via Truck To Irvine Headquarters! [VIDEO]

The first ever location of one of the most popular fast food chains in the world, Taco Bell's Downey restaurant, was facing demolition after being vacant for years, but the chain's HQ wasn't about to let that happen - so the whole thing was moved across the state to its new home!

As Food World News reported would happen a few days back, Taco Bell's Downey location, or at least the façade, was recently moved in its entire through a truck, which lifted it up the ground and drove it all the way to Irvine, where the chain's headquarters is currently located.

According to Fox News, the chain proceeded to do as promised last Friday, when a team of movers arrived to the Taco Bell Downey location, affectionately called Numero Uno, moving the 53 year-old building so it's preserved throughout eternity (or as long as there's a Taco Bell HQ) in Irvine, 45 miles southeast of the location it had been for over five decades.

As USA Today reports, by publishing the press release the company issued when announcing they were moving the Taco Bell Downey location, it's still unclear what exactly will happen to the building in the near future, as for now it will be in storage until execs decide what to do with the vital building in their history.

For decades, the Taco Bell Downey location flourished, until it was ultimately closed as a restaurant of the chain in 1986, then hosting a variety of taquerias behind its doors; now, nearly a year after the last of these taco joints closed down, the new owners were about to demolish the old building, but the chain wasn't about to let it happen.

As promised, Taco Bell did a live update of the big move from one city of California to another, and they also made a clip about their plans to move the iconic Taco Bell Downey location - which you can watch below!
