Celebrities from all over the world have participated in the ALS ice bucket challenge. Dousing oneself with a bucketful of ice water has become so popular, that even Bart Simpson's dad has decided to take the challenge.

Homer Simpson, Springfield's iconic Dad first made the challenge to "Flanders, Lenny and Flanders again into the ice bucket oh... why not Donald Trump." In the typical Homer style, he then proceeded to douse himself with a glass of water and then pretended to shiver to convince people how cold it was.
But unexpectedly, Homer was doused again with ice water, but this time, it's about a hundred gallons worth. After that came the penguins, Siberian tiger, Santa and his elves, hockey player and finally, a fully loaded ice cream truck. If you want to see the ending twist, go watch the video.
Take the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge
Aside from Homer Simpson, countless real-life celebrities ranging from movie stars to software billionaires took the ALS ice bucket challenge. According to Rolling Stone, the most notable of these celebrities who took the challenge was actor Matt Damon who used toilet water instead as a gesture to the problems of having clean water. After dousing himself with ice toilet water, fellow actor Leonardo DiCaprio donated $100,000 to fund the research for ALS.
ALS and the Origin of The Ice Bucket Challenge
The Sydney Herald Morning post describes Lou Gehrig's Disease or ALS as a type of disease that affects the brain as well as spinal cord nerve cells. Those with ALS will find it almost impossible to control the muscles in their entire body.
Pete Frates, a former baseball player for the Boston Red Sox, who also suffers from ALS, first started the ice bucket challenge. Later on, the challenge went viral and millions of dollars was raised.
