American Music Awards 2015 Winners: Taylor Swift, One Direction Lead

As always, Taylor Swift topped the recently concluded American Music Awards 2015 which was held on November 22 at the Los Angeles Microsoft Theater. The singer was the big winner of the night followed by One Direction who got the grandest award during the ceremony.

Taylor Swift won three awards from different categories namely favorite pop/rock album for her '1989', favorite adult contemporary artist and song of the year for her track 'Blank Space.' However, the American singer-songwriter wasn't able to personally accept her awards because of her absence. The 'Bad Blood' singer is currently doing her 1989 World Tour.

The 25-year-old artist never failed to receive a trophy in every music awards she attends to. Taylor Swift is undeniably one of the most successful singers in the music industry.

On the other hand, the band of Swift's ex-boyfriend One Direction became the star of the night as the singing group won the top prize - artist of the year. The boy band is the current holder of the said title for two consecutive years. 1D also received the favorite pop/rock duo or group award for the third time.

The fans of the boy band from London are really faithful for the group. One Direction performed at the AMAs 2015 singing their latest single 'Perfect' which is part of their newly released album 'Made In The A.M.'

One Direction's fifth studio album is currently number one in the UK chart and number two in the Billboards 200 chart following Justin Bieber's album 'Purpose'. The aforementioned album will be the last project of the band before they take their well-deserved break starting in March to spend time with their families.

"We're gonna go on a little break, gonna spend some time with our families," the group stated while receiving their award at the AMAs 2015.
