AMAs 2015: Justin Beiber And Selena Gomez Requested To Sit Next To Each Other

After Justin Bieber serenaded Selena Gomez at the Montage hotel bar in Beverly Hills on Friday, the on-again-off-again couple reportedly wanted more time together at Sunday's American Music Awards in Nokia Theatre.

TMZ reports the pop stars requested to sit next to each other at this year's AMAs. Although ABC wished they could say yes to their request, shuffling the seats last minute would take a lot of work. This may upset the fans but Justin and Selena just had to sit on opposite ends.

"[Selena and Justin] are both super excited to hang out together at the American Music Awards," a source told HollywoodLife.com "The show brings back happy memories for them. They walked the red carpet together in 2011 when they were crazy in love. Now they are more mature and still in each other's lives after all the ups and downs. They won't walk this year's red carpet together, but will spend time back stage. They both have their own dressing rooms."

Despite speculations of them back together, The Heart Wants What It Wants singer arrived solo at the red carpet in a sexy red sequined dress while the 21-year-old crooner kept it casual in a Nirvana shirt.

The 23-year-old songstress then took the stage and performed her latest single Same Old Love in a sheer black sequinned jumpsuit. Obviously songs written for each other, Beiber also sang his hits What Do You Mean, Where Are U Now and Sorry in a rain-soaked performance.

Beiber admitted he's written songs for his first love on Ellen earlier this month and said getting back with her "could possibly happen."

"We have a lot of history together, so I'm sure, I mean it possibly could happen," he told DeGeneres. "But I think we're both just on our own journeys of just figuring ourselves out, and I think maybe once we figure ourselves out we could come together to make an awesome duo, or she'll find someone awesome, I'll find someone awesome. I just want her to be happy."

After singing The Temptation's My Girl to her on a date night which ended with a romantic stroll on empty Beverly Hills streets, they might be really getting there.
