The Golden State Warriors' incredible start to the 2015-2016 NBA season shows no signs of stopping. Last night, the defending champions dispatched the Denver Nuggets 118-105 to improve their record to a spotless 15-0.
The record puts them one win away of setting the all-time mark for the best regular season start in NBA history. The team currently shares the record with the 1948-49 Washington Capitols and the 1993-94 Houston Rockets.
The visiting Nuggets put up a decent fight for much of the game, trailing by only six at half time, but never really made the champs sweat.
The Warriors clamped down on their defense after the intermission, limiting the Nuggets to 34.8 percent shooting in the third and fourth quarters. Overall, they stole the ball a season-high 15 times and forced Denver into 19 turnovers.
Klay Thompson notched four 3-pointers and led the team with 21 points. Reigning MVP Steph Curry tallied 19 points and seven assists - the first time he failed to crack the 20 point barrier this season.
It was a balanced night overall for the Warriors as key figures as five players hit double digits in scoring. Harrison Barnes bagged 17 points, Draymond Green scored 13, and Andre Iguodala chipping in with 12 off the bench.
"It's kind of a quiet confidence that we don't feel like we're going to lose anytime soon," Said Curry after the game. "The way we're playing ... we can get even better."
"It's a huge accomplishment," Curry continued. "Obviously, coming off a championship and taking care of business 15 straight times to start the season -- couldn't ask for a better start."
The Warriors can make history at home Tuesday night by taking care of their division rivals, the visiting Los Angeles Lakers.
