Backstreet Boy Nick Carter is now a married man.
According to People, the 34-year-old married fitness expert and longtime girlfriend Lauren Kitt on Saturday in a ceremony alongside the ocean in Santa Barbara. The ceremony took place at the at Bacara Resort and Spa and Kitt wore a strapless gown.
After four years of dating, Carter, who previously said that he would never get married, proposed to Kitt in February 2013 on a small island in the Florida Keys. The singer popped the question with a seven-carat, pear-shaped diamond ring.
An eyewitness told Us Weekly reported that Carter emotionally read his own vows to Kitt and "Lauren reached out and put her hand on his chest." The couple exchanged handwritten vows beneath an arch made of white roses and hydrangeas. After exchanging vows, "Lauren held Nick's hand and dried tears from her eyes."
"At the end of the ceremony they shared the longest wedding kiss I've ever seen," an eyewitness told Us Weekly. "A full minute later they were still kissing. They seem crazy in love and thrilled to be married. You could feel the love bursting out of them."
Fellow bandmates AJ McLean, Howie Dorough and Brian Littrell were in attendance along with 100 guests. Aaron Carter, the groom's brother, was not at the wedding due to "a contractual obligation to appear in the Cherry Blossom Parade in Washington, DC."
"Aaron changed planes several times to get into Santa Barbara," his rep Steve Honig told Rumorfix. "He was breaking his a** to get to Nick's wedding."
Aaron, whose plane was grounded due to mechanical problems, tweeted: "Really?? @USAirways @drakebell bro are we both sitting here?? Like really I DIDNT want to miss my bros wedding!! F**K."
People reported that the couple hosted an Arabian-themed rehearsal dinner on Friday night. McLean posted about the dinner on Instagram along with a selfie captioned,"Chillin at the house getting ready to head to the rehearsal dinner of the wedding most of u thought would never happen but I'm so happy it is finally! Congrats to my little bro for growing up and finding love. So proud of u bro. Love u both @nickcarter and@laurenkitt."
