The Weeknd on a Surprise Collaboration with Ed Sheeran

Pop artist The Weeknd who is known for making hit songs like 'Can't Feel My Face' and 'Lay It On Me' happens to be known in the music industry as someone who is picky when it comes to doing collaborations with other artists. This is why British singer/songwriter, Ed Sheeran was shocked when The Weekend actually asked him to work with him on a new song.

The Inquisitr got a hold of the statement that Sheeran said about this rare and awesome instance that he had with the singer. The two were in a party one night and they were both drunk when The Weeknd asked Sheeran for that rare collaboration offer.

"When we were at the party, we were really drunk, and he was like, 'You should come to my house tomorrow! We should write a song!' And in my head, I'm like, the Weeknd doesn't wanna write a song - the Weeknd doesn't work with anyone. He's got one feature on his album, which is Kanye West. He doesn't wanna do that. And then the next day, he hit me up again, so I went, and we wrote this song, which is really, really f**king good," Sheeran explained.

The song was called 'Dark Times' and since it was created by two of the most in demand artists in the industry these days, it became a hit and it was an amazing moment for both artists to perform it live on stage.

Sheeran has come a long way from being a street performer to now filling up stadiums with his sold out concerts. He is also known to be pop superstar Taylor Swift's best friend and they too have been working on projects before, which also became hits. Sheeran's music and The Weekend is looking like it is here to stay.
