Jamie Lee Curtis may be playing Dean Cathy Munsch on Fox's "Scream Queens," but that doesn't mean she isn't a scream queen either.
In case you didn't know, she played Laurie Strode in the "Halloween" movies, which probably means she's a bigger scream queen than those on the show.
Perhaps her scream queen talents are hereditary, she's the daughter of Janet Leigh, after all - the woman who played Marion Crane in the iconic 1960 Alfred Hitchcock film, "Psycho."
On Tuesday's episode of "Scream Queens," aptly titled "Mommie Dearest," Jamie Lee Curtis had the opportunity to recreate her mother's iconic shower scene - and did it perfectly!
If you need to compare, take a look at the same scene from the original movie below.
Of course, "Scream Queens" had to do their own hilarious twist on the scene - so no one still knows if Jamie Lee Curtis can actually match up to her mother's eerie scream.
Not to pit the mother and daughter duo against each other, but hearing Dean Munsch say "I've seen that movie 50 times," and kick the ass of the Red Devil was definitely better than bleeding out after being stabbed in the shower.
Take a look at the shot-for-shot comparisons here.
"Scream Queen" fans probably already knew about the scene before the episode was aired. Back in September, Jamie Lee Curtis shared a sneak peek on her Instagram as she held onto a photo of her mom from the "Psycho" scene. The photo was captioned:
"Just recreated, with help from the amazing crew, a shot by shot of my mother's famous shower scene from Hitchcock's PSYCHO for @screamqueensfox #screamqueens Ryan Murphy and co. wrote it into a special episode and it felt right! Honoring the Royal legend that is/was/will always be, Janet Leigh. Thought all the fans of the genre would love it! #honorthymother [photo] @joaquin_sedillo show debuts in a week on FOX 8pm 2hour premiere!!!!"
Jamie Lee Curtis definitely didn't disappoint, and fans really did love it.
