Wearable Tech: Easy Jet's Newest Futuristic Uniforms; Created For Emergency And Safety

United Kingdom's Easy Jet is not going easy with their newest high-tech uniforms, which the company has revealed during their 20th anniversary celebration.

The high-tech uniform that will be worn by the cabin crew of Easy Jet is adorned with LED light, a camera, air quality sensors and a built-in microphone, all with their own parts to play.

What Easy Jet really wants to get from their wearable technology is a safer and comfortable flight for their jetsetters.

This wearable technology is collaboration between the airline and CuteCircuit, which is a wearable technology company that has worked with numerous stars such as Katy Perry, Nicole Scherzinger and U2.

For the plane engineers, their uniforms will be embellished with LED's and reflective panels, particularly on the hood to signify their work areas.

The cabin crew on the other hand will have LED on the shoulder part of their uniform in case some passengers forget their flight number and their destination.

Another reason for the LED is during emergencies they will act as additional lighting.

The uniforms also have built in cameras, which will project videos and images to flight engineers in case of any problems arising so the engineers can assess it in real time.

The microphone is going to be used as a way of communication between the cabin crew and ground crew.

For the air quality sensors, it will monitor the work environment and create an air quality map of various cities.

This is the first time that wearable technology is being used in commercial airlines, and this is quite an exciting time for Easy Jet.

"Our crew's primary concern is for the safety of all passengers so it is really exciting to be working on this pioneering technology which could transform the capability of our uniforms," Tina Milton, EasyJet's head of cabin crew, said.
