Singer-actor, Elvis Presley, who has been regarded as one of the most significant cultural icons of the 20thcentury, breaks record in the U.K album charts for placing no. 1 as of November 6 tally with his 12th record-breaking material "If I Can Dream" featuring Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, according to reports.
Presley's album had reportedly sold a total of 79,000 units, which pushed it on the second spot during its launching week for 2015's release to Noel Gallagher & the High Flying Birds' "Chasing Yesterday".
Reports say that the new success adds to Presley's frequent no. 1 titles in 59 years, since he took the lead in the 1956 November survey. Adding to this, the king of rock-n-roll is also now on the same row with Madonna's most no. 1 albums, following the English rock band, The Beatles at spot no. 15.
"This is an album that Elvis really wanted to do and he would have been so pleased to know his fans are still there and they continue to love his music," Presley's wife Priscilla said. "The most talented team put this album together and helped us all realize an unfulfilled dream."
Presley's latest album statistics have been released via the Official Charts Company, which has also reportedly put Rod Stewart's "Another Country" at no. 2, followed by Guy Garvey's "Courting The Squall" placing no. 3.
Other artists included on the album music charts are Ed Sheeran, James Morrison, Jack Pack, duo Andy Bell and Vince Clarke, Adele, Justin Bieber, Sam Smith and Ariana Grande.
Among the chart-topper albums and singles during the recent weeks in the music charts, Adele's "Hello" has taken the lead following her record-breaking launching week with 7.32 million units streamed and an additional 5.78 million units just this week plus 121,000 total of downloads, equivalent to a chart sales tally of 179,000.
