Sochi, Russia Recent Food Problems: Reporters at the Olympic Winter Games Share Their Troubles Through Twitter

Russia apparently has a big food issue.

As the Olympics finally begin, the country has had their share of food- and beverage-related problems leading up the big game day, starting with Coca-Cola's media campaign and supposedly ending with reporters sharing their food struggles while overseas.

Coca-Cola's new social media campaign was criticized for banning homophobic slurs in its Winter Olympics campaign and discriminating against the gay community in a country where the government passed a law criminalizing "gay propaganda."

Last month, Russia banned all liquids of any size on Sochi-bound flights. Anything containing liquid, no matter how small an amount, must be in checked luggage.

Russia also recently blocked Chobani Greek yogurt from shipping its products overseas to Sochi, where the games will be taking place, the Associated Press reported. Chobani, who are one of the sponsors for the 2014 U.S. Olympic and Paralympic teams reportedly do not have the proper safety certificates, that would permit it to be shipped overseas.

As reporters get settled in their temporary homes in Sochi, Russia, some have taken to Twitter to vent their frustration with the food and beverages being provided.
