Angelina Jolie Got The WSJ Magazine Innovator Award for Entertainment and Film

On Thursday, in New York City, the American actress, filmmaker and star of Universal Pictures' upcoming 2015 American romantic drama film By the Sea - Angelina Jolie, was presented with the WSJ Magazine Innovator Award for Entertainment and Film.

Rather than Angelina Jolie focus on her own successful achievement, Jolie found a way to honor her late mother Marcheline Bertrand - the American actress, producer and the former wife of actor Jon Voight - in addition to Angelina Jolie's six children with the American actor and producer who received a Golden Globe Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award - Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie's husband of just over a year.

As Angelina Jolie accepted her award, Jolie who has been cited as Hollywood's highest-paid actress, stated,

"When I was little, my mother (Marcheline Bertrand) used to say to me, 'Let me see your soul. When I was full of anger or unhappy or trying to express something that mattered, my mother would hold me and she would look me in the eyes and say that. And if I didn't know what it meant, but I understood that she wanted me to drop all make-believe and just be. My children are innovators. All children are...For me, in my art of films as a director or writer, I try to listen to my mother and bear my soul and to listen to my children and make a mess and to play and be free,"

Angelina Jolie also said, "When we publicly acknowledge an innovation we are celebrating human freedom. We can't put a price on the value of the individual spirit."

After Angelina Jolie ended her speech at the event, the actor of the 2013 film World War Z - Brad Pitt, kissed his wife's forehead and gave the actress a big hug.

An attendee of the event said that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were very loving with each other and you could tell by the way Brad Pitt looked at her, that the actor was so in love. Jolie and Pitt were "sitting very close" to one another and Brad Pitt had his hand on Angelina Jolie's back during the event. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were acting very much in love.
