"Hello" has broken records after earning the biggest sales within seven weeks. According to Forbes, Adele's latest single joins Elton John's "Candle In The Wind" in its record being the only song that has been sold for more than a million copies within just a week, 15 years ago.
"Candle In The Wind" was the singer's tribute to late Princess Diana that sold about 3.4 million copies during its first week and continually earned more and more million in the following seven days.
"Hello" is the first single and the enigma of Adele's comeback to the business. Entertainment Weekly reported that it's music video has triumphed over Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood".
Adele's album "25" also became a huge success after earning a million downloads within just a week.
The most remarkable event about the sale of the hit song, is that it continued to be active in the market even in times wherein people will no longer decide to buy music since everyone is already using streaming and downloading it for free.
It also doubled the largest single sales week of all time, Flo Rida's 2009 hit, "Right Round," that had only 600,000 sales within its seventh day of release.
Drake released "Hotline Bling" a week preceding Adele's release of her new single. Drake has been eying to be on the top spot but Adelle''s Hello already got the spot.
"It is very likely that we have just seen a record be broken that will never be broken again," the Forbes report says.
1.1 million Downloads was garnered by the British singer's latest song. It also debuted on Billboard's Hot 100 having the No. 1 place after being released on Oct. 23.
