One of TV's greatest actors is making his own TV show. Deadline has announced that Amazon has officially ordered a full season run of Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston's new project Sneaky Pete.
The show, which is produced by Cranston and House creator David Shore, stars Giovanni Ribisi as Marius - an ex-convict who assumes the identity of his former cell-mate Pete in an attempt to dodge the demons from his past. The official synopsis on IMDB reads:
After leaving prison, Marius takes cover from his past by assuming the identity of his cellmate, Pete. He moves in with Pete's long-estranged, unsuspecting family and is roped into the family's bail bond business. He's a criminal taking down other criminals and, in the process, he'll discover the family life he's never had.
Aside from Ribisi, the cast includes the likes of: Marin Ireland, Margo Martindale, Peter Gerety, Libe Barer and Shane McRae.
The show was originally developed for CBS, but the network passed on the project during upfronts season in May.
"We are excited to bring to Amazon's customers a new compelling series headlined by Giovanni Ribisi from the minds of David Shore and Bryan Cranston," Said Amazon Studios VP Roy Price. "Sneaky Pete is an incredible addition to Amazon's expanding drama slate and we are eager for its premiere in 2016."
The Pilot episode is already available for streaming on Amazon Video. Cranston has a small cameo in it.
Sneaky Pete joins Amazon's growing roster of original programming. The network's current slate includes Emmy Award winning dramedy Transparent, the soon to be released alternate history epic The Man in the High Castle, and the much publicized automotive show from the former stars of the BBC's Top Gear.
Amazon already released a teaser for the latter, featuring main man Jeremy Clarkson.
