Ronda Rousey Was Amazed by the Artwork Paying Special Honor To Her

It's not easy to catch the American mixed martial artist and judoka expert - Ronda Rousey off guard, and that's exactly how the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women's bantamweight champion's defeated her opponents thoroughly. They will surely attest to that.

Better yet, an achievement that requires great courage was accomplished by Venice Beach street artist Jonas Never, with the use of some paintbrush, paint, a ladder and his very own creative imagination and talent.

Never, is a resident of Venice in California, the very same place where Rousey is from and even attended the same high school as she did.The artist painted a monumental mural of the women's UFC bantamweight champion right at their hometown, where she can continuously enjoy viewing it whenever she wants.

Ronda Rousey did not choose a film premiere, a photo shoot or a scratch of a Hollywood megastar, when she was asked for a specific moment that brought home to her the extent of her fame.

The 28-year-old instead named the moment when she first caught sight of the mural in her honor portrayed by the painter Jonas Never, which is located near Ronda Rousey's home by the Pacific Ocean.

Ronda Rousey stated, "Actually, that is the kind of thing that blew me back.I grew up in Venice and street art is really a big thing there. That's the thing that really kind of gets me. That's more surreal than any media, the people and the locals and the culture embracing everything that is going on."

Before Ronda Rousey, the last Strikeforce Women's Bantamweight Champion, jetted off to Melbourne, Australia, where she will fight the former professional boxer and kickboxer - Holly Holm on November 14, Ronda Rousey passed by the mural to get another look and said that it keeps her grounded whenever she sees a testament of her increased profile in a place close to her heart.

Ronda Rousey stated, "That's why I really love the area so much, because it is such a part of the local culture that everyone wants to be local and cool about everything," Rousey said. "(People) just don't want to make a big deal about celebrity. People usually just say 'Hi' if I am walking down the street. It is not like I am getting chased everywhere."
