Robin Williams's Widow Reveals New Suicide Cause

Not too long after Robin William's tragic suicide last year, the wife of the deceased Oscar-winning actor has issued a new statement about the real cause of her husband's death.

Reports say that Williams was believed to have suffered from extreme depression, anxiety and early stages of Parkinson's.

However, Susan Williams comes into view to reveal another finding, stating that her husband didn't die because of "depression". Instead a rare Neuro-degenerative illness was to be blamed for the actor's death.

The correct diagnosis had been performed just after the autopsy, as Susan confirmed during her earlier interviews after the veteran actor-comedian died.

During her one-one-one interview with ABC, Susan revealed that her late husband went through an "endless parade of symptoms" since 2013, which fuelled her instincts that depression was not exactly the killer, but it was the diffuse Lewy body dementia that killed Robin.

"It was not depression that killed Robin. Depression was one of let's call it 50 symptoms and it was a small one," Susan was quoted in The Independent.

She went on saying, "This was a very unique case and I pray to God that it will shed some light on Lewy bodies for the millions of people and their loved ones who are suffering with it. Because we didn't know. He didn't know."

She also revealed how hard things were during the times that Robin was showing many symptoms, but still couldn't determine what was causing her husband's real illness.

"It was like playing Whack-a-Mole. Which symptom is it this month?" she added. "I thought, 'Is my husband a hypochondriac?' We're chasing it and there's no answers. By now, we tried everything."

Setting aside her dismay on the wrong diagnosis that came out after his husband's death, Susan admitted that she now fully understands why the diagnosis didn't turn out to be exact.

"I know now the doctors, the whole team was doing exactly the right things. It's just that this disease was faster than us and bigger than us. We would have gotten there eventually." She explained.

Susan added that she remembered one of Robin's doctors saying that even if he didn't know what he was exactly suffering at the time, he was still able to recognize one thing about his illness.

"Robin was very aware that he was losing his mind and there was nothing he could do about it."

Robin Williams died on August 11, 2014, at the age of 63 after he was reportedly found lifeless at his California home.
