‘Wonder Woman’ News: Nicole Kidman May Return To DC With Gal Gadot’s Solo Movie, 20 Years After ‘Batman Forever’

It's been 20 years since Nicole Kidman, then the lesser-known actress wife of superstar Tom Cruise, co-starred in "Batman Forever" opposite Val Kilmer as DC Comics superhero Bruce Wayne, and now it seems she might dip her toe in this universe again as the latest "Wonder Woman" news says she's in talks to join the cast of the Gal Gadot-starring film.

In 1995, Kidman joined the cast of "Batman Forever" as psychiatrist-turned-girlfriend Dr. Chase Meridian (in a role somewhat similar to the one Morena Baccarin plays in "Gotham" these days), but it seems she's certainly evolved from back then, as she might play an Amazon warrior in the upcoming film, new "Wonder Woman" news reports claim.

According to an exclusive "Wonder Woman" news story by The Wrap, Oscar-winning Kidman is current in talks to join Gadot and Chris Pine in the 2017 film, which will be the second time the character appears on the current DC movie universe after next year's "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice."

In any case, as The Guardian reports, this "Wonder Woman" news places the 48 year-old Australian superstar as tipped to play a "high-ranking Amazonian warrior," which would certainly make sense given the star's build, towering at almost 6 feet of height.

While the actual role is unknown, Time Magazine reports that there's a good chance she might be playing comic book character Hippolyta, the Queen of the Amazons and mother to Diana Prince/Wonder Woman.

Even before this "Wonder Woman" news, Keith Urban's actress wife has quite a bit going on in her schedule, having released five films in 2015 alone and with three films lined up for a 2016 release, besides possibly filming "Wonder Woman" next year ahead of its summer 2017 release date.

Other stars rumored for roles in the film are "Penny Dreadful" star and Bond girl Eva Green as well as "Game of Thrones" actor Sean Bean.
