L.A. Eatery to Serve Chocolate-Flavored Fried Chicken

Combinations that go well together include rice and beans, cherry flavored Pepsi, shrimp spaghetti, but how about chocolate flavored chicken?

According to the Huffington Post, Adam Fleischman, founder and CEO of Umami Burger, will soon open ChocoChicken, a restaurant that will serve a new style of fried chicken, described as chocolate -flavored fried chicken.

"ChocoChicken is completely different than anything else out there. This isn't mole, traditional fried chicken, or even chicken just dipped in chocolate," Fleischman said about the product. "It is a whole new style of fried chicken that you just have to taste to believe. It's got the 'crack factor' I look for in a great restaurant brand."

The Huffington Post reported that Fleischman will make the  chocolate-flavored fried chicken with chicken fry batter that will actually contain chocolate. ChocoChicken will also offer house-made biscuits, beer, wine and cocktails.

"Fried chicken is a classic American comfort food that has been largely overlooked in fast-casual restaurants," Fleischman said.

The new eatery is a partnership between Fleischman and his AdVantage Restaurant partners, Keith Previte, who is a self-taught cook, production coordinator and entertainment producer, and Sean Robins, a film and television producer. Robins is reportedly the first person to eat at every restaurant listed in a Zagat Guide.

ChocoChicken will open in March at 403 W. 12th St.
