The candidate for President of the United States in the 2016 presidential election - Donald Trump stated, "I greatly recognize the full worth of the incredible support we have received from the people in the state of Virginia," "We have huge crowds and approval, and it will be a great privilege to be on the ballot in this essential state."
Donald Trump also said, "We are establishing an excellent team of staff and volunteers in the state of Virginia who are very enthusiastic and eager about my vision to Make America Great Again!"
In the previous presidential cycle, a federal judge refused to grant a last-ditch bid from Newt Gingrich (represented Georgia's 6th congressional district as a Republican), Rick Santorum (former Pennsylvania Senator), then the American politician who served as the 47th Governor of Texas - Rick Perry and the diplomat who served as the 16th Governor of Utah from 2005 to 2009 - Jon Huntsman Jr. to obtain on the state ballot after the candidates were unsuccessful to turn in the indispensable number of signatures.
Where in March 2012, Mitt Romney, the former Massachusetts governor and ultimate 2012 GOP nominee, ended up beating Ron Paul (a former Texas Representative) in a head-to-head matchup in the GOP primary in the state. Mitt Romney gathered about 60 percent of the vote, while Ron Paul collected roughly 40 percent.
It has been officially compulsory for the United States presidential candidates to gather together 10,000 signatures statewide, which includes 400 in each of the state's 11 congressional districts.
