Tom Jones To Get DNA-tested for Black Ancestry Purpose?

The Welsh singer who sold over 100 million records - Sir Thomas John Woodward, better known by his stage name as Tom Jones, wants to do something that has been quite commonly occurring. The 75 years old singer wants to get a DNA test to discover if he has any black ancestry.

Tom Jones stated that he's always curious to know about if he is of mixed race, part of it - Tom Jones's curly hair and tan skin.

The 'Sex Bomb' hitmaker stated, "A lot of people still have a particular opinion that I'm black," "When I first came to the United States, individuals who had heard me sing on the radio would be impressed greatly that I was white when they saw me. For the reason of my hair, a lot of black people still tell me that I'm just passing as white."

Tom Jones' mother ,Freda Jones (died on the 7th of February 2003), got the same queries when she gave birth to the singer.

Tom Jones noted, "When I was born, my mother got big dark patches all over her body," Tom Jones also said, "People asked my mother if she had any black blood and she said she didn't have any idea. I'm going to get my DNA tested. I want to find out."

However, Tom Jones, whose best known song is "Delilah," also talked about his status as a sex symbol in his conversation with the Times. Tom Jones made it known that he slept with as many as 250 women in one year and the singer who had thirty-six Top 40 hits in the U.K. and nineteen in the United States - covered by insurance for his chest hair for almost $7 million.

In addition, Queen Elizabeth II, as the Queen of the United Kingdom and Head of the Commonwealth, knighted Tom Jones in 2006. And as stated by his website - Tom Jones is scheduled to have a performance at London's Blues Fest on Sunday night.
