Celebritiess face body shamers practically every day, but one person who has declared that she isn’t going to put up with them is Ariana Grande! Although the 21-year-old singer has always been pretty skinny, she has no problem defending people of any shape and size because she thinks everyone is beautiful.
Ariana recently shared a message about body positivity on Instagram and Twitter after reading an insensitive comment someone left on one of her posts.
"Got asked if I'd prefer @arielwinter1 or @ArianaGrande lol, it wud DEFINITELY be @arielwinter1 curves are sexy sticks aren't," the comment read.
Grande then took to her social media accounts to share a thoughtful response. She added the caption, "here we go again ... Sure I'm not the only 1 feeling this way today!! In case you need a reminder, you're beautiful."
"We live in a day and age where people make it IMPOSSIBLE for women, men, anyone to embrace themselves exactly how they are. Diversity is sexy! Loving yourself is sexy!" she wrote, adding, "The things that make us different from one another make us BEAUTIFUL."
The tweet currently has over 16,000 retweets and 23,000 favorites, which shows Grande's fans agreed with her. Ariel Winter also tweeted her support and thanked Grande for spreading the love.
Winter, who recently underwent a breast reduction surgery and has been outspoken about body image issues among young women, cheered on Grande's statement.
"Thank you @ArianaGrande," the actress tweeted in response to the singer. "Women should empower one another.Celebrate each other- you're all beautiful."
This isn't the first time Grande has shared her thoughts on body critics. Back in August, she shared a clip of herself waving goodbye and rolling up a car window and captioned it, "Me @ body shaming / slut shaming & other misogynistic / negative comments."
Her latest single, 'Focus,' which Ariana released along with a video on October 30 just screams confidence with lyrics like, “Let’s find a light inside our universe now/Where ain’t nobody keep on holding us down/Just come and get it, let them say what they say/Cause I’m about to put them all away.”
