Cara Delevingne flexed her guns and went to battle in the new trailer for 'Call of Duty: Black Ops III,' which debuted on November 1. The star-studded trailer is a show-stopping war zone filled with explosions and battles, but Cara stands out of the pack by far. She’s the best player in the game, after all.
Video games remain a dominant and lucrative staple of mass media entertainment, and while movies based on video games remain a struggling genre, the Call of Duty game franchise seems to stand at the intersection of cinema and gaming with its attempts at realism and highly-cinematic atmosphere and storytelling.
Now, a new trailer for the game updates a classic Call of Duty marketing campaign and features the likes of Michael B. Jordan and Cara Delevingne.
Cara’s appearance in the trailer is somewhat of a surprise, as she doesn’t come in until the final few moments. But when she does, it’s with a bang.
In the trailer, Michael B. Jordan introduces fans to Kevin, a Call of Duty gamer who’s built like a machine and ready to take down any of his challengers.
This whole thing is easy as pie for Kevin, he’s ruthless, unmatched in his skills, and doesn’t fight fair. And he’s doing this all while eating a sandwich with one hand.
But after a long battle, which includes defeating Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch, Kevin is bested by someone even mightier than he: Cara! Locked and loaded, rocking some badass leather, Cara comes busting through with guns blazing.
This trailer is an update of the 'There’s A Soldier In All Of Us' ad campaign which dates back to the 2010 release of Call of Duty: Black Ops and featured regular people striding through war zones ready for action. The appeal to audiences, of course, is that the Call of Duty games lets you unleash your inner badass.
Call of Duty: Black Ops III releases on November 6th, 2015.
