Bette Midler: ‘Hocus Pocus’ Actress Finally Speaks Out About Disney Sequel On Twitter, Teaming Up With Sarah Jessica Parker And Kathy Najimy Again?

For months on end, there have been rumors that Disney might be planning a sequel to the 1993 witch classic from everyone's childhoods, and one of the stars is finally addressing rumors this Halloween, as Bette Midler's "Hocus Pocus" tweet comes to light.

Unfortunately for fans, Bette Midler's "Hocus Pocus" comment isn't altogether too enlightening about the current state of the supposed sequel, but that doesn't make it any less fun and awesome, as the star tells the world what has taken so long - and it seems Disney can't find a virgin to sacrifice for the movie.

According to HitFix, the actress took to Twitter to share her views on why Bette Midler's "Hocus Pocus" sequel hasn't happened, saying there's no way to continue the legacy without a virgin, which upon reflection, seems obvious enough - although her witch sister Kathy Najimy seems to disagree.

Vulture reports that Najimy replied to Bette Midler's "Hocus Pocus" tweet by saying that she was spreading "bogus rumors," adding that in fact they already had a virgin in place for the sacrifice, Marc Shaiman, who arranged and produced the famous "I Put A Spell On You" version on the film, sung by Midler.

In the meantime, "Sex and the City" star and third witch sister Sarah Jessica Parker has kept mum on the subject, sticking to her character in the beloved film.

According to International Business Times, while Bette Midler's "Hocus Pocus" tweet didn't say much in the way of the sequel, it's a fact that the actress loves the film about as much as fans do, saying a couple of years back, on the movie's 20th anniversary, that it was "kind of life the beginning of the wave" and saying it was her favorite out of her movies.

Hopefully they can find a proper sacrifice soon (or, well, resolve the behind the scenes drama) for a Bette Midler "Hocus Pocus" sequel!
