[POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD]
It's hard to imagine that anyone would dislike Superman. After all, the Kryptonian who goes by the name Clark Kent goes out of his way to save the day, and in 'Man of Steel' he even managed to subdue fellow alien General Zod from killing more people.
However, the aftermath of their battle may have left an entire city in dust, and it turns out that one of the buildings the Kryptonians have demolished belonged to Bruce Wayne. Henry Cavill, who plays Superman both in 'Man of Steel' and 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,' explained to Total Films why the Caped Crusader abhors Kal-El.
"What happens there is one of Bruce's buildings gets destroyed and he's trying to save all the people inside the building and he can't," the actor explained. "So he is this angry person who fears what Superman may do. Why are they just going to trust this super-powered alien? What if he does decide to turn against us?"
Some eagle-eyed fans have previously seen the connection between the fight sequence between Kal-El and General Zod in 'Man of Steel' and the scene in the 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' trailer where Bruce Wayne watches a building being destroyed. A few Youtube users have even spliced the scenes together in well-made fan videos.
Ben Affleck explained that the loss of his people may have pushed Bruce Wayne into possibly seeking revenge.
"He's found himself in a place of harboring a tremendous amount of rage for Superman," he said. "So it's how he got there, and what that's done to him, and what that's done to people around him like Alfred, who are, I think, very scared and worried for him. It's something that's interesting and new."
'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' will hit theaters on March 25, 2016.
