Box Office: 'The Martian' to Scare Off Sandra Bullock on Halloween Weekend?

Hollywood is still feeling upset and annoyed from a brutal period that saw four new motion pictures and the expansion of "Steve Jobs" crash and burn at the movie theaters. Films like the American supernatural action film, which was helmed by Breck Eisner - "The Last Witch Hunter" and the American musical fantasy drama film - "Jem and the Holograms" were roundly declined by moviegoers and are unlikely to turn a profit.

There won't be much of reassurance and relaxation this weekend either, as the comedy-drama film "Burnt" and director David Gordon's comedy-drama film "Our Brand of Crisis" are slated to deliver muted openings.

Halloween falls on a Saturday, which is typically the strongest day for moviegoing.

Phil Contrino, vice president and chief analyst at BoxOffice.com, stated that, "A lot of film studios aren't even unleashing horror films, for the reason that they're not confident people that will call off their plans," "Individuals are going to dress up and go out on Saturday. People are not going to the theaters."

In that, the holdovers such as director Ridley Scott's science fiction film -  "The Martian" and the computer-animated horror comedy film - "Goosebumps" will likely be in a head to head race for first place in the box office. The Martian should bring in $10 million, while the Goosebumps film is looking at $8 million to $9 million.

The new release of the American entertainment company Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc., has geared up the American actress and producer Sandra Bullock to play as a mercenary spin-doctor trying to manipulate a South American election in "Our Brand is Crisis."

Critics have been mixed on "Our Brand is Crisis," although they've expressed warm admiration of Sandra Bullock's feisty performance. The matter is politically charged movies aren't usually very commercial and there are a lot of choices for adult audiences such as director Danny Boyle's biographical film - "Steve Jobs" and Steven Spielberg's American historical drama-thriller film - "Bridge of Spies."
