Jane Lynch to Host People's Choice Awards 2016

Multiple award-winning actress Jane Lynch will host “People’s Choice Awards 2016,” as announced by Today CBS and People's Choice Awards.

The annual event is set for January 6 in Los Angeles, with the nominees in 65 categories at the Nominations Announcement Press Conference on Tuesday.

In a statement Lynch said, "As a people myself, I'm thrilled to take on hosting duties of the only awards show that celebrates the choice of the people!"

She previously starred as Sue Sylvester on "Glee" and has appeared in "The L Word," "Desperate Housewives," "Criminal Minds" and "Two and a Half Men."

While Glee may have wrapped for good, Lynch has found her next entertaining role in the upcoming comedy Angel From Hell, an upcoming American single-camera fantasy sitcom created by Tad Quill.

The series was greenlit to order on May 8, 2015 and will air on CBS during the 2015–16 television season. The series will debut in February 2016.

The cast of fantasy sitcom included, Jane Lynch as Amy, a mysterious and eclectic individual who reveals herself to be an angel. Maggie Lawson as Allison Fuller, a dermatologist who likes to be a multi-tasked perfectionist. Kyle Bornheimer as Brad Fuller, Allison's younger brother who lives above her garage, and Kevin Pollak as Marv Fuller, Allison's Dermatologist father and her boss.

Lynch noted that while "there's an element of spirituality" to the show, "It's first and foremost a comedy. It will always be funny."

Last year’s People's Choice Awards were co-hosted by Mom stars, actress and producer Anna Faris and actress Allison Janney, this time we can’t wait to see what kind of tongue-in-cheek jokes, crazy gags and unexpected moments will be in store for us as Lynch she takes on hosting the event.

With nominee voting wrapping up late last week, Lynch signing on to host the telecast just adds to the excitement surrounding the upcoming awards show.
