Besides getting ready for the band's upcoming hiatus, One Direction's Liam Payne has to say another goodbye as he and girlfriend Sophia Smith have finally called it quits following their two-year relationship, according to OK! Magazine.
Reports say that the split up came five days after the band cancelled their concert in Belfast, which left thousands of disappointed fans waiting.
"Liam and Sophia have split," a source said. "Liam is incredibly sad, but is going to keep busy. He really hopes that everybody will respect both his and Sophia's privacy and stop speculating."
Following his split up with Sophia Smith, sources went on to say that the 22-year old singer is trying to divert his attention into something more important and has vowed to keep himself busy.
On October 23, Friday, Liam sent his seemingly emotional message on Twitter and wrote "I love how music is always there for you when you need it most."
This year has been incredibly difficult for the now four-piece band and the 1D fans have been in their best efforts to show their full support, especially now that one of the members is going through some bad heartbreak.
Prior to their split up, Liam Payne on his one-on-one interview with the Attitude magazine, has openly talked about marrying Sophia Smith.
"We have talked about marriage, but 22 seems a bit young for us." Payne said. "Sophia needs to go off and do what she wants to do. I don't want her to be one of those stay-at-home girlfriends who doesn't really do much."
Setting aside the downsides, the band is now more focused on how they can make things up to their disappointed fans after their cancelled Belfast concert. One Direction is also looking forward for the upcoming release of their most awaited album "Made in the A.M" which is set to due on November 13, Friday.
