Alan Tudyk Wants To Play Blue Beetle If Nathan Fillion Signs On As Booster Gold

Remember when Nathan Fillion admitted that he would be interested in playing DC's time-traveling superhero Booster Gold?

In August, Comicbook.com reported that the former 'Firefly' actor attended the Wizard World Comic-Con and was asked which superhero he would be interested to portray in film. After some thought, Nathan Fillion gave an answer that was met with thunderous applause.

"I think I could take a pretty good crack at Booster Gold," he said. "That's kind of my niche: show-offy, vain. I think I could handle that... not too bright."

Although Nathan Fillion also mentioned Ambush Bug, the fans have already decided that he should be Booster Gold and that his 'Con Man' costar Alan Tudyk should play the character's comic book best friend Blue Beetle.

It looks like the 'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story' actor is interested in the role, as Alan Tudyk told Comicbook.com.

"Well, that's great. If it's working with Nathan, I'm in," he said. "Also, being a bug for me? I'd like that. Roly-poly is nice. I'd like to be one of them. That's what we called them back in Texas, but they're almost a beetle."

Now that the stars have been chosen by the fans, a 'Booster Gold/Blue Beetle' movie might soon be in production. In September, The Tracking Board reported that Greg Berlanti of 'Arrow' and 'The Flash' will be working on the film while Sarah Schechter will serve as executive producer. In addition to that, Heroic Hollywood also announced that 'X-Men: The Last Stand' screenwriter Zak Penn is in talks to write the screenplay for the movie.

If the 'Booster Gold/Blue Beetle' film does push through, it may be the first less-than-completely-serious DCEU movie. Michael Jon Carter (Gold) and Ted Kord (Blue) are known for their comic book antics and would be a refreshing change from DC.
