John Legend and Ed Sheeran Headline 'Shining a Light' - a Concert About Race in America

Some of the biggest artists in the music industry are collaborating for a concert that centers on addressing one of America's most important topics.

On November 20, American media companies A&E Networks and iHeartMedia, will present a concert, currently dubbed as "Shining a Light: A Concert for Progress on Race in America."

A press release stated that the two-hour event will go around a one-hour special that will attribute the artists "engaging a very different group of residents in local communities at the center of the national conversation on racial discrimination and violence." - where the artists will spend time in the communities like Ferguson, Baltimore, Chicago and Charleston.

The star-studded lineup of artists who will be performing in a series of duets includes - nine time Grammy winner - John Legend, Ed Sheeran (English singer-songwriter and musician), the American country music band - Zac Brown Band, Eric Church (American country music singer and songwriter), actor, singer and comedian - Jamie Foxx, and Rhiannon Giddens.

Other performers are - singer and songwriter Tori Kelly, Miguel (a Grammy-winning American recording artist), Pink, Bruce Springsteen, singer, model and actress - Jill Scott, Sting, Sia and the 'Happy' hitmaker Pharrell Williams.

The "Shining a Light: A Concert for Progress on Race in America" will be recorded on November 18 at Los Angeles's Shrine Auditorium, and will be aired  on A&E, LMN, the American basic cable and satellite television channel - History, Lifetime, H2 (digital cable and satellite television network), and FYI.

Ken Ehrlich (executive producer) stated, "The current racial situation in United states is at a critical point," "Today's musical artists, much like those of the civil rights movement's history, have strong feelings about what's going on today, and we're  inspiring optimism that 'Shining a Light' concert does, in fact, give a voice to their matter of interest, their hopes, and their thinking about their means of solving a problem to the alarming events that we see around us every day."
