Ronda Rousey Shares Her Thoughts About What It Really Means To Be A Champion

If a list of champions were to be named, Ronda Rousey is definitely going to be on that list. She has been recognized as the undefeated UFC bantamweight champion in the world of MMA fighting.

While her reputation as a UFC fighter continues to soar with her seemingly unbeatable records and history in fighting, it seems like the 28-year old champ has much deeper thoughts about what it really means to be looked up by many as a champion.

During her interview with comedian host Chelsea Peretti for SELF, Rousey has openly shared what motivates her to train harder. "It's motivating, because it's something I have to keep earning."

She went on saying, "When I was a kid, all I did was train. I never went to a dance, I never had a date, I never went to a single party. Training was my whole life, and it was because I wanted to be able to win the Olympics more than I wanted to go to the movies with my friends."

The tough-talking woman, who shared how her life has been so different from the rest, also spoke about her future life after her run is over, adding that she hopes gender has nothing to do with how people will remember her.

"I want my name to be mentioned along with Mike Tyson and Muhammad Ali. And I don't want the word 'woman to be in front of 'champion'," Rousey said.

It's completely not surprising to hear people describing Rousey as a one real 'bad ass', especially when she hits the ring. Rousey on her take, also explained her own definition of a bad ass, saying "someone who's willing to do what needs to be done,"

She added, "There are plenty of times where people know and they don't do it, because it's not comfortable or easy. If you do what's right regardless of how it's going to make you look, then you're really a bad ass."

Following her last fight held last August 1, 2015, Ronda Rousey is getting herself ready for her upcoming fight with Holly on November 15, Sunday.
